Paul is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Birmingham International Airport, the UK’s third largest airport outside London, handling more than 11 million passengers a year. He joined Birmingham Airport as CEO in 2008 and has overseen the biggest transformation in its history. Paul started his career as an RAF air traffic controller before moving into domestic flights, and has worked at Belfast, Luton and Bristol airports. A leading figure in the UK’s aviation industry, Paul has an honorary doctorate from Birmingham City University and received the Lifetime Contribution to Midlands Business Award in 2016 for his outstanding contribution to the region.
Paul is also a non-executive Director for Marketing Birmingham, despite once backing the ‘Beat Birmingham!’ rallying call when he worked at Luton airport!
